Happy New Year and greetings to everyone in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I trust that you have had a fabulous start to the year so far. I am sure each of you have made some sort of resolution for this year and I pray that you will achieve this goal that you have set for yourself. Allow me to inspire you with the following story.
Once, there were three frogs sitting on a rock on a pond. They were highly stressed because they had been sitting for a few hours, unable to jump into the water, as there was a crocodile swimming nearby. After several hours passed by, two of the frogs finally decided to jump into the water. Now the question: how many frogs remain on the rock? The automatic answer would be: one. Right? Actually, the right answer is three and not one. You see, the two frogs decided to jump into the water, but never really jumped. They made a decision, but never took any action. So, in the same way, you might have decided on a new goal for 2019, but your decision will only remain a decision until you take an action. So please don’t just set goals for 2019, but go the extra mile and make the effort to accomplish them. It could be starting a children’s ministry, youth ministry, serving as an elder, a leader, starting a bible reading plan, starting a new business, signing up for a new course, applying for a new job or even getting married. Just do it “for you are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus, who loves you” (Romans 8:37).
As for EE NZ ministry, we are setting a goal of implementing 19 workshops this year. The breakdown is as following: Hope for Kids = 5 workshops; Share your Faith = 4; Everyday Evangelism = 4; XEE workshops = 4 and Classic EE workshops = 2. And, with Christ in me, the hope of Glory (Colossians 1:27), I believe, as a ministry, we can do this.
Of course we need your continuous prayers and financial support for us to achieve these goals. We have already started the year with two Hope for Kids workshops in February: one at St Paul’s Presbyterian Church (with 10 trainees) and the other in Rarotonga (with 43 trainees). That means 53 people will be equipped to take the gospel to the children and train them to share their faith with others. We need you to be our prayer partner – please keep both workshops in prayer.
Other great news is that one of the attendees at the Hope for Kids intro program in Wellington used our EE gospel sharing technique which resulted with eight kids making a decision for Christ. What a way to start the year, with a BANG! I am really excited and I hope you are too!
By the way, do you want to know what happened to the three frogs in the story? Here is how the story ends. The three frogs finally became bold and they conquered their fear by dashing into the water. Not only did they conquer their fear, they multiplied to five frogs (abundance) and triumphed over their arch enemy the crocodile.
I wish you to do the same for 2019
